Overlying mountains

Geometrical cross stitch pattern

Here it is a good idea to turn a landscape into a geometrical cross stitch pattern. These colorful overlying mountains suit quite well as wall decoration of a baby room. Get it here!

Materials used:

  • White Zweigart Aida fabric 18 count
  • Rest of threads I had at home
  • 19cm hoop
  • DMC needle n. 26

For this kind of projects you don´t need much material and you can always use other colors than the cross stitch pattern. It can be easy personalized by stitching a name or a date on the left side of the pattern.

The embroidery hoop is a very multi functional tool. It helps stretch and tighten the fabric so it does not contract during stitching, thus avoiding distortion of the pattern and it can be used as frame. I have seen on Instagram that some people decorate a wall with several hoops in different sizes and it looks great. In the meantime I used this one to decorate my son´s room.

Important information: the colors of the stitched work seen in the pictures above vary from the ones in the PDF cross stitch pattern on the shop because I have used rest of threads I had at home to save money. If you also have some stash of threads at home, this is perfect for this kind of geometrical designs. You can use the colors you like without compromising the pattern.

Happy stitching!
